Man charged in Greenfield

Hello Saddleworth residents,

Today at about 5pm a pair of helmeted males rode up to a locked an unattended motorbike on Chew Valley Road, Greenfield.

Thinking this an easy steal, they attempted to take this bike using their hands and feet to try to force the lock and security mechanism - unfortunately for them the owner was watching from nearby and was with an off-duty police officer relative.

While one managed to escape , the other was detained on scene by our heroes and with some help from your local neighbourhood team has been charged to appear before the courts in the near future.
